Porsche 911 RS Carrera

Year: 1973

Car Engine: 2.7 litre

The Porsche 911 Carerra RS 2.7 was first produced in 1973 and was the first Porsche to feature "the ducktail" which was more about functionality than design, proven in wind tunnel and track testing to keep the rear end of the car firmly grounded. The car was developed in response to the introduction by the FIA in 1972 of a 3.0 litre limit for competition and the 2.7 litre was developed after the 2.4 litre 911 was not deemed strong enough.
